The Russian school "Znaniye" was opened in 2003 in London and at present has four branches based in Ealing, Newham, Central London and Oxford . This school is for children and youths from 3 to 18 years of age, any abilities, and any nationalities. The school is now an accredited EDEXCEL Centre for GCSE and A-Levels. On the 7th of October 2006 the fourth branch started its school year in Oxford. It was an important event not only for the Russian speaking community in Oxford but for public and cultural life of the city too. Oxford is known all over the world for its academic achievements since the 13 th century. Today there are 16,500 students on Oxford, among which a growing number of students come from the former Soviet Union countries. Despite the fact that school is new, we are thinking about hosting more activities, not only within education, but expanding into Russian cultural activities.
